The
Nurse/Home Visitor program is a prevention oriented home based program
that provides one-on-one contact with families. The Nurse/Home Visitor
(N/HV) forges relationships and inspires families to make informed
choices that will help improve their pregnancy outcome, their child’s
health and well-being and their future. The N/HV helps parents learn
how to care for the health needs of themselves and their families,
access community resources and form stable support systems. The
Nurse/Home Visitor covers topics that include:
• Prenatal health and fetal development
• Postpartum care and infant care
• Nutrition
• Mental health and
• Child development
These skills provide and opportunity for families to plan for the
future and become more self-reliant. The home visits are weekly,
bi-weekly or based on the individual families’ needs.
Who is eligible?
Pregnant women and families with children birth to age three that
are on the waiting list for the Early Head Start program are eligible
for home visits.
If you would like to support the Nurse/Home visitor program, our
needs include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Donation of new baby items
